First stop of the day - Post a postcard at Seoul Central PO (서울 중앙) |
우와
|
Why is there a scholarly statue in front of the post offiice? |
Ligna is hard at work - writing postcards! |
We are sending this postcard to our colleagues haha. And yes to Agnes who didnt join us at this trip |
Post it! |
A selfie before posting the post card. P.S. We handpicked these postcards at the Hongdae flea market. They are photographs taken by the arty budding photographers. |
A welfie before we set off to our next stop! |
Jongno Gwangjang Food Market (광장시장) 왔다! |
The first thing on my mind when i stepped in to the market is that... there are endless stalls of food! |
Eager customers waiting for their breakfasts |
The signboard says "Guaranteed" Must be really good. |
I didnt manage to try this but this is Korean Sweet Pancakes,
Hotteok (호떡)
|
That's ahjumma busy all morning |
Look at that pile of glass noodles. |
Hot and spicy rice
cake (Tteokbokki) 떡볶이
|
We also ordered kimbap |
Yay, breakfast time! |
맛있다 ! |
Fishcake seaweed soup is a must order too |
Walking around because we wont be able to taste all the food here. |
Look at that freshly made pile of kimbaps |
A street of good food |
Immersed in the Korean food culture |
The most interesting dish...Intestine Blood
Sausage with Vermicelli
(순대-Soondae). I
still dont dare to try. But i know those who did loved it. |
A happy chef |
Making endless pancakes |
Look what i spotted! A surge of excitement tells me i need to take a picture of this picture. haha |
I am a 런닝맨 fan = ) Teehee |
After breakfast, Ligna and I moved on to explore other parts of Gwangjang market and realised that they also have a section holding non food stalls. |
한복 가게를 찾았다 |
I am amazed at this traditional costume and its no. of designs. All so so so pwetty, arent they? |
Presenting colorful hanboks |
Even children sizes! |
쇼핑하러 가고 싶어요
|
I know there are endless hanbok pictures..i just cant help snap more photos |
We spotted SPAM luncheon meat. Jasmine's fave. But too heavy to buy and carry back la~ |
This pretty sums up the stalls that sells hanbok. |
All these are wedding candies used in Korean traditional wedding ceremonies. |
So i read that in a Korean wedding ceremony, dried meats and sweets are offered so that new mother-in-law accepts the new daughter-in-law with kindness and generosity. |
And there were also fresh fruits stalls. Just look at those strawberries. |
Back in the hotel, posing with my new slippers bought at Gwangjang Food Market = ) |
Cute polka dotty slippers haha ^^ |
Traditional needle pin cushion for my mum who sews |
