Traditional Hanok stay in Seoul city

왔다!
Hue Ahn Hanok Guesthouse  (휴안 한옥스테이)
81 Gye-dong (32-1 Bukchon-ro 6-gil), Jongro / Insadong, Seoul, South Korea
서울특별시 종로구 계동 81
We were finally here after an hour of domestic fight from Jeju
and another 45 mins of cab ride from Incheon airport. We were
greeted by the owner of Hue Ahn Hanok Guesthouse.

As we wanted to experience Korean lifestyle in a traditional hanok, we've decided
to stay for 2 nights (before we move into a hotel). We had a very interesting
cultural lifestyle experience here...

As explained by the guesthouse owner, his family own this 100
year old hanok which he had decided to turn it into a guesthouse.
Just look at the pair of shoes outside each room, there were
so many short-staying guests during our stay.

Ligna-ssi is just chilling by the courtyard of the hanok.

This place is really awesome. We could just watch the
stars right at the courtyard here at night.

같이 (Together!)
This is our room! Yes it is a tiny room because the owner had mistaken and
thought we needed a room for one person. And because the rest of the rooms were
fully booked, he could only offer us an extra "bedset" and charge us for a one-room
stay (with some extra charge for the additional bed). We thought it was quite
worth-it and okay so squeeze a little.

Our floorbeds on a traditional 온돌! Ondol is a traditional underfloor heating
used in winter season. It was spring (and also colder at nights) so the floors
were heated at night to provide a warm night rest = )

One small dresser at the side. Ligna-ssi is so kind to let
me use the dresser every morning.

This is another room (not ours) where can fit in 3 persons. So spacious!

One of the shared bathroom inside the house. So modern
unlike the outlook of the hanok.

Just to prove that im giant in there? Cool isnt it?

We have rested enough and ventured out of the hanok.

Our hanok is tucked in a corner along the streets of Insadong..
And then we searched for our fave porridge place located in Myeongdong.
We had discovered this awesome restaurant at our last trip with Agnes-ssi.
By chance it was located above the hanok house that we went.
It was so good that we came back here again!

Congee House's range of the congee selection!

Hungry and excited. Cant wait to dig in! ^^

YAY! 전복죽 (Abalone porridge)
AKA King of porridge in Korea.

Not only is it creamy, savory, delicious, hearty, and satisfying, but because
they live on the rocks on the bottom of the ocean, abalones are incredibly lean and
apparent zero in fats!

Shopping along the way. Bought this Samsung hp cover for
mummy as she has been wanting one = )
Bought from the underground MRT shops. You can shop
anywhere in Seoul.

Munching on yummy Kimbap bought along one of the street
shops when Ligna-ssi and I were in our search for the
night tour of a palace. To our disappointment, there werent
such tours in any of the palace, which was what i read off
one of the tourist apps = (

We decided to give ourselves a hearty dinner to fill the
tired stomach

This restaurant was located a street away from Hue Ahn
Hanok, which we had also saw our owner walked passed.

The starters of any meal in Korea...already look so good, right?

Guess what we ordered? A dish of marinated chicken, spaghetti topped with
치스 (endless cheese and more cheese!)

As we really didnt know the huge servings of the restaurant, we also ordered
계란찜 (Steam egg). Oh my...! And we struggled to finish because it was
such HUGE serving!

After a super filling dinner, we strolled back to the
guesthouse. Interestingly, the owner doesnt lock the
main gate. I supposed there were many guests who
thought the night was still young?

Just relaxing at the courtyard outside of our room. Loving the chilly night
weather that ended our first night in Seoul = )

Folders for our office fans of Kim Soo Hyun and Lee Min Ho

We rested for the night and prepared ourselves for more adventures the
next morning in Seoul. Cant wait ~
